GAC Esports Championship Set for Saturday at SE with SWOSU Esports Featured

SWOSU Esports is set for a full day of competition at the 2025 Great American Conference (GAC) Esports Championship, happening Saturday, April 26, at Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SE) in Durant, Oklahoma.

The event will include playoff and championship matches in Rocket League and Overwatch 2, along with a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate singles tournament. SWOSU enters the Overwatch 2 final as the No. 1 seed and will face Southeastern in a much-anticipated matchup for the conference title. In Rocket League, SWOSU holds the No. 3 seed and will compete in Saturday's playoff rounds for a chance to advance to the grand final. Five SWOSU students are also participating in the Smash tournament, which is open to players from across the conference.

Matches begin at 10 a.m., with Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. starting at the same time. While engines roar on the Rocket League pitch, Smash competitors will be battling it out in a singles tournament open to players from across the conference. Both games are expected to bring strong competition and tight matchups from start to finish.

Once the Rocket League grand final wraps up, the arena will shift focus to Overwatch 2, where SWOSU and SE will square off in an epic showdown. Both schools have performed well throughout the playoffs, and the final is expected to be a competitive match with strategic team play and high-level execution.
