Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Zhou Limin Visits the University of Gothenburg in Sweden

On May 27, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin visited the University of Gothenburg and exchanged views with Vice-Chancellor Malin Broberg and others on China-Sweden cooperation in education and scientific research.

Ambassador Zhou commended the University of Gothenburg for its positive attitude toward cooperation with China. He noted that during China's 15th Five-Year Plan period, the country will further increase investment in areas such as artificial intelligence, green transition, life sciences, new energy, advanced manufacturing, and marine science and technology, creating broader opportunities for bilateral cooperation. He expressed the hope that the University of Gothenburg would further strengthen practical cooperation with Chinese universities, research institutions, and local governments, continue Gothenburg's tradition of openness and engagement with China, and encourage more young students and researchers to become a new generation of ambassadors of China-Sweden friendship.

Vice-Chancellor Broberg gave a detailed introduction to the development of the University of Gothenburg and its cooperation with China. She stated that the university maintains good cooperation with Chinese universities in areas including academic exchanges, student exchange programs, and joint publications. She noted that China is a global leader in many fields and expressed the university's readiness to further strengthen cooperation in education and scientific research with China.
