New Concrete Project on SR 90 in Macon County

MACON COUNTY, Ga. - The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractor plans to begin pavement preservation work on State Route 90 (SR 90) in Macon County today, September 2, 2026.

The project will address approximately 0.55 miles of SR 90, from milepost 15.96 to milepost 16.51, to repair and preserve the roadway.

The two-lane section of SR 90 will be repaired through mill-and-inlay operations. Traffic control will be handled through a flagging operation, with a flagger stationed on each side of the work zone and a pilot vehicle guiding motorists through the area.

When: Starting today until the end of September

Motorists should expect temporary traffic delays and changing traffic patterns while crews are working and are encouraged to slow down, use caution and allow extra travel time when traveling through the work zone.

Work is scheduled to begin today and is expected to be completed by September 25, weather and other factors permitting.

Advisory: Dates may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
