Maria Lvova-Belova continues to reunite children with their families

On March 28, 17-year-old Ruslan was reunited with his grandmother in Russia. His mother died, and in 2014 the child went with his father to visit their relatives in Ukraine, but they were unable to return. Maria Lvova-Belova Lvova-Belova MariaPresidential Commissioner for Children's Rights noted that the boy wanted to live with his grandmother in Russia, so the woman filed an application for preliminary guardianship over her grandson.

The Commissioner for Children's Rights thanked Russia's Foreign Ministry for their assistance with the necessary documents for the child, as well as other participants in this mission: the State of Qatar, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and representatives of relevant agencies.

A day earlier, HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Russia Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser Al Thani and Head of the Office of the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights Alexei Gazaryan met with the children reuniting with their relatives living in Ukraine: five children - two girls and three boys aged 11 to 17 years.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights has helped 21 children from 14 families reunite with their relatives in Russia. Additionally, 100 children from 80 families have reunited with their relatives in Ukraine and in third countries.
