PAVING AND DETOUR C.R. 550 WOODBINE OCEANVIEW ROAD

PAVING AND DETOUR C.R. 550 WOODBINE OCEANVIEW ROAD

The County of Cape May's 2024 Maintenance Paving contract will continue with the resurfacing of Woodbine Oceanview Road (CR 550) in the Borough of Woodbine and Township of Dennis. Woodbine Oceanview Road will be resurfaced starting east of the roundabout and extending east to Corson's Tavern Road (CR 628) as well as a 300lf section of the roadway immediately adjacent to NJ Route 9. The work will consist of the milling and resurfacing of the roadway under a night paving operation. Work is expected to begin on Tuesday April 15th at approximately 6:00 P.M. and will continue thru the night until approximately 6:00 A.M. the following morning. Work will continue during the nights from April 15th until Friday night April 18th.

On Tuesday night during the active paving operation, eastbound C.R. 550 traffic will be maintained as the contractor mills and paves the westbound lane. Westbound C.R. 550 traffic will be detoured. Local traffic will be maintained, and homeowners will always have access to their properties. Traffic heading west along C.R. 550 approaching C.R. 628 (Corson's Tavern Road) will be directed south along Corson's Tavern Road to Route 83. Traffic will be directed west along Route 83 to NJ Route 47 north. Traffic will travel north along Route 47 to Main Street (C.R. 610) and will continue traveling north along C.R. 610 back to C.R. 550. Normal traffic patterns will resume between 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. each day. A separate detour notice will be provided later in the week when the east bound lane of C.R. 550 is scheduled to be milled and paved.

Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling thru the work zone due to limited visibility, slow moving vehicles, and the absence of traffic striping. Stick down pavement reflectors will be installed at the end of each paving day in order to delineate the roadway centerline and will remain in place until the roadway receives permanent traffic striping.
