A portion of West Roberts Road between Tate Road and Highway 29 will be closed to through traffic beginning Saturday, Aug. 29, as crews continue roadway reconstruction for the West Roberts Road Roadway and Drainage Improvements Project.
Detours will be in place along Kingsfield Road and Tate Road during the closure period. Drivers traveling on West Roberts Road should use extra caution and follow road crew instructions and posted signs when traveling through the work zone.
West Roberts Road between Tate Road and Highway 29 is expected to reopen after Labor Day weekend, weather permitting. Work will continue along West Roberts Road following the closure period. The project is expected to be completed by fall 2026, weather and construction coordination permitting.
Residents, pedestrians, local traffic and emergency vehicles will have access to properties within the work area at all times; however, there may be short periods when a driveway or entrance may be blocked temporarily as equipment and materials are moved during construction.
The public's patience is appreciated as crews work diligently to complete this project as soon as possible. If other roadway closures are necessary or work is delayed, another notice will be issued.
