Dorothy MacKenzie Price Piano Series to Highlight Faculty Pianist Oct. 31-Nov. 1

The Dorothy MacKenzie Price Piano Series will return to The University of Toledo on Saturday, Oct. 31, and Sunday, Nov. 1, highlighting a talented pianist, organist and harpsichordist on faculty in the Department of Music.

Dr. Tiantian Liang will lead a master class at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, and perform a solo piano recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, in the Center for Performing Arts Recital Hall.

Dr. Tiantian Liang is a talented pianist, organist and harpsichordist on faculty in the Department of Music.

Both are free and open to the public.

"The Department of Music is excited to highlight and introduce our new colleague in this semester's Dorothy MacKenzie Price Piano Series," said Dr. Jason Stumbo, an associate professor and chair of the Department of Music. "Dr. Tiantian Liang recently joined our UToledo music faculty, and this series provides a perfect opportunity for her to introduce herself and her artistry to our greater Toledo community. Dr. Liang is an incredibly skilled and gifted pianist who brings great depth of experience and musicianship to the classroom and the stage."

Liang is a visiting associate professor of piano performance and an active solo and collaborative artist who has performed at universities, festivals and concert series throughout the United States and Europe. Equally active as a scholar, she also presents lecture-recitals and conference sessions that examine keyboard repertoire, pedagogy and artistic practice, and she explores the connection between performance, teaching and inclusive programming at national and regional conferences.

The Dorothy MacKenzie Price Piano Series is supported by the Dorothy MacKenzie Price Fund and the Toledo Piano Teachers Association. Named in honor of a late supporter of music programs and students at UToledo, the series brings celebrated pianists to campus twice annually for master classes and recitals. The series also encompasses a spring competition for musicians in grades nine through 12.

Visitor parking for the master class requires payment through the ParkMobile app, a parking meter or a daily permit via ParkUToledo. Visitor parking for the recital is free in Area 12, excluding disability, metered and reserved spaces.
