Bulldog Nation showed up in full force for Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) 2026 Decision Day on May 1!
It was a powerful moment filled with pride, purpose and jubilant celebration at Baysox Stadium in Chesapeake, Md. Bowie State's cheer team was accompanied by the electrifying sounds of the Symphony of Soul Marching Band, while representatives from the Division of Enrollment Management & Student Affairs were on hand to answer questions and ensure a smooth transition for Bowie-bound students.
Bowie State University President Aminta H. Breaux offered her congratulations, as she announced the new Bowie State University and Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) memorandum of understanding establishing a fast-track direct-admissions program for eligible PGCPS graduating seniors.
"Our campus opens doors to a world of opportunities. Class of 2026, now it's your turn. Your journey is just beginning, and I'm excited to see how you are going to move boldly forward. The best is yet to come!"
Some members of the incoming class of 2030 are the first group to come to Bowie State through the simplified fast-track direct-admissions program allowing them to pursue a four-year degree close to home. Bowie State has awarded more than 600 scholarships to PGCPS seniors for fall 2026. Dr. Breaux announced the new initiative to the crowd of nearly 3,000 students who attended the event.
From declaring majors to celebrating next steps, every smile tells a story of ambition, resilience and legacy in the making. To all of our future Bulldogs, welcome home!
