Paving and Detours Near NE 47th & Halsey 4/15-4/18/26 and 4/27-4/30/26

With warm, dry weather returning, crews are scheduling intersection paving work on NE Halsey. We know this construction can be frustrating, and we really appreciate your patience as we make these needed improvements to keep our streets in good condition.

Schedule

Paving around the intersection of NE 47th & NE Halsey is scheduled to take place over eight days, beginning Tuesday, April 15.

The intersection will be constructed in two phases:

• Tuesday, April 15 - Saturday, April 18: North side of NE Halsey and 47^th Ave construction
  
• (Sunday, April 19 - Sunday, April 26: One week off - no construction)
  
• Monday, April 27 - Thursday, April 30: South side of NE Halsey and 47^th Ave construction

Travel Impacts

A table of travel impacts around NE 47^th and Halsey by date and travel direction. Full text below.

North-south travel closure:

• All north-south travel through the NE 47th & Halsey intersection will be closed April 15-18 and April 27-30.
• Southbound vehicles detour around the north side of NE 47th Ave and NE Halsey via NE Broadway, NE 37th, NE Halsey to south on 47th.
• Northbound vehicles detour around 47th and Halsey via NE Glisan, NE Cesar Chavez Blvd, to NE Sandy Blvd.

East-west travel impacts:

• Between April 15-18, westbound travel on NE Halsey through NE 47^th Ave will be closed with a signed detour to travel south on NE 60^th Ave, west on NE Glisan, and north on Cesar Chavez Blvd to return to NE Halsey.
• Between April 27-30, eastbound travel on Halsey through NE 47^th Ave will be closed. Vehicles typically accessing Halsey from the intersection of NE Sandy & 37^th Ave will have a signed detour direction travel south on Cesar Chavez Blvd and east on NE Glisan to travel around the closure.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Impacts

• The northbound and southbound bike lanes on NE 47th will be closed at NE Halsey.
• People biking should use either NE 45^th or NE 49^th Ave to get around the work zones.
• There may be a need near NE 47^th Ave to travel on the sidewalk. Please yield to pedestrians and/or walk your bike.
• Three crosswalks will be closed during construction and detours for pedestrians will be signed.

Transit Impacts: TriMet Line 77 Detours

Line 77 Westbound Impacts April 15-18:

• The westbound stops at NE Halsey and 53rd Ave (#2428), NE Halsey and 49th Ave (#2425), and NE Halsey and 47th Ave (#7571) will be closed.
• Line 77 will detour using NE 57^th Ave, NE Sandy Blvd, NE 45^th Ave, and NE Broadway Blvd before returning to its regular route.

Line 77 Eastbound Impacts April 20-24:

• The eastbound stops at NE Halsey and 50^th Ave (#2426) and NE Halsey and 53rd Ave (#2429) will be closed. Detours will run via NE 45^th Ave, NE Sandy Blvd, and NE 57^th Ave, before returning to its regular route.

Additional Notes

• Detours will remain in place overnight during construction.
• Detours will be removed between the night of April 18 and the morning of April 27.
• Driveway access will remain open throughout construction.
• This schedule may change due to weather, and we will share schedule updates through email updates via GovDelivery.
