ABU hosts webinar in collaboration with Proximity Principle

Held alongside ABU Con-FEST 2025, this timely ABU Media Academy webinar welcomed 65 participants from across the Asia-Pacific. Featuring award-winning educator Mr David Balfour, the session explored agile production strategies for broadcasters navigating tighter budgets and evolving platform demands.

Mr. Balfour encouraged participants to rethink traditional linear workflows and adopt iterative, cross-platform approaches. "Production value today isn't about budget-it's about emotional clarity and authenticity," he shared.Key strategies included visualising scenes with affordable tools like Leonardo.ai and Shot Designer, using cloud-based collaboration platforms such as StudioBinder and Blackmagic Cloud, and designing sustainable, resource-efficient shoot plans. Participants also discussed crew wellbeing and smart scheduling as vital aspects of sustainable practice.

In the Q&A session, Dr. Dipendra Kumar Mazumder of Prasar Bharati shared how similar lean techniques are being used in India's national training academy. The exchange of ideas from RTM Malaysia, Virtual University Pakistan, and others further underscored the value of cross-border collaboration.
