Previously Convicted Felon Pleads Guilty to Illegal Possession of a Loaded Glock 27

WASHINGTON - Pres Braddy, 34, a previously convicted felon residing in the District, pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court in connection with his illegal possession of a loaded Glock 27 .40 caliber pistol, announced U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

Braddy pleaded guilty before Judge Christopher R. Cooper to one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Judge Cooper scheduled sentencing for Jan. 5, 2027.

According to court document, on Aug. 30, 2025, at about 11:42 p.m., members of the Metropolitan Police Department, along with other law enforcement partners, were patrolling a parking lot on the 2300 block of 11th Street NW, at the Garfield Terrace apartments.

Braddy was seen on surveillance video wearing a black crossbody satchel on his person while in a group of about a dozen people. As the officers arrived, Braddy separated himself from the group, removed the satchel, and walked back toward the group.

An officer approached the satchel, touched it, and felt an object consistent with a firearm. When police opened the satchel, officers recovered a Glock 27 .40 caliber pistol, loaded with one round of .40 caliber ammunition in the chamber and 15 additional rounds in the 15-round magazine. The satchel also contained 17 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition.

Braddy is prohibited from having any gun because he previously had been convicted of unlawful possession of a firearm and sentenced in September 2017 to 18 months in prison.

On Sept. 10, 2026, Braddy was convicted at trial for unlawful possession of a firearm by a prohibited person in connection with having a Glock 23 Gen 5 pistol. Police recovered the Glock 23 following a pursuit of a stolen Jeep in which Braddy had been a passenger. Sentencing for that offense also is scheduled for January 5.

Both cases were prosecuted under the Make D.C. Safe and Beautiful Again Initiative by Assistant U.S. Attorneys David Liss, Travis Wolf, and Alexander Cook of the Federal Major Crimes Unit. The initiative targets violent crime by prioritizing federal prosecution of armed repeat offenders and removing illegal firearms from District neighborhoods.
