Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival invites students to create bold, colorful flower artwork inspired by the Pop Art Movement. For students K-6th grades, pick up a poster board at one of the pick-up/drop-off locations and enter your masterpiece for a chance to win a ribbon and tickets to the festival.

"Groundbreakers" brings together artists who played with materiality, space and performance in postwar Japan and Korea after the 1950s. This exhibition is organized by The University of Texas at Dallas in collaboration with The Dallas Museum of Art.

The Fix-A-Leak Workshop is an educational session designed to help residents identify, prevent and repair common household water leaks. Participants will learn how to spot hidden leaks, understand their impact on water bills and local water resources and gain practical tips for simple fixes. The workshop also highlights everyday conservation practices to help reduce water waste, save money and protect the community's water supply.

Sonia De Los Santos was born with a smile on her face in Monterrey, Mexico and has been singing in Spanish and English for audiences of all ages since 2007. It's hard not to smile when she's sharing some of her favorite things - migrating birds, friendship, chocolate and anecdotes about growing up in Mexico and realizing her childhood dream of moving to New York. Her songs are inspired by various Latin American rhythms like huapango, cumbia, salsa and festejo, as well as the North American folk traditions from the United States.

Work on reading skills and meet lots of canine companions when you read to live therapy dogs. Kids attend independently for 10-minute sessions with a dog. This Richardson Public Library-sponsored program is for kids entering grades K-4 only. All ages are welcome to meet the dogs around 3:50 p.m.

Set in the 1950s "Curtains" takes the audience backstage to the drama and intrigue of the theater world. When a murder occurs during the opening night of a Broadway-bound musical, Detective Frank Cioffi is called in to investigate. Young singers, this is your moment. Budding Talent is an annual vocal competition for students in kindergarten-12th grade, giving kids the chance to take center stage at the Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival. Finalists will perform live on Sunday, May 17 at 1:30 p.m., in front of a festival crowd cheering them on. The journey begins with a live preliminary audition on Sunday, April 12 at the Richardson Senior Center.

Registration is open for an unforgettable night of Nerf battles for moms and their sons. This Nerf challenge includes a Nerf Battlezone and target shooting fun. Richardson's annual Trash Bash event returns. Attendees can do things like properly dispose of used cooking oil and kitchen grease, pick up a free preparedness bag, donate items to Network of Community Ministries and donate used eyeglasses.
Note: The electronics recycling and document shredding event will not be held on Trash Bash Day. Instead, it will take place on Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at The Heights Church, 201 E. Renner Road.
