Changes to the lists of Statements of Principles, March 2026

The Statements of Principles (SOPs) are a tool to determine if an injury, illness, or death is service-related. On 12 March, six minor amendment Statements of Principles came into force in New Zealand.

Minor Amendment SOPs

Reasonable Hypothesis and Balance of Probabilities versions of:

  • inguinal hernia
  • sensorineural hearing loss
  • suicide and attempted suicide
