Parliamentary Leaders of Russia and Tajikistan Discussed Cooperation Issues in Dushanbe

Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko and Speaker of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Rustami Emomali held a meeting in Dushanbe. The parties discussed topical issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Valentina Matvienko also met with Speaker of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda.

The parliamentary leaders noted the commitment of the presidents and peoples of Russia and Tajikistan to building strong friendly and allied relations and developing a multifaceted partnership.

The Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council noted the active work of Tajik lawmakers in the legislative process on the IPA CIS platform. Valentina Matvienko also thanked her colleagues for the invitation to hold an International Tourism Forum Travel Hub "Commonwealth" in the capital of Tajikistan. The event will be held on 19-20 October 2024 and will bring together representatives of the tourism industry, MPs and experts from the CIS countries.

Valentina Matvienko invited Tajik colleagues to take an active part in the meeting of the IPA CIS Council and the next plenary session of the Assembly, which will be held on 21-22 November 2024.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy took part in the meeting.
