Elkhorn Road closes for multiple weeks between SH-75 and Weyyakin Drive beginning Monday, July 13

KETCHUM - The Idaho Transportation Department will close Elkhorn Road between State Highway 75 and Weyyakin Drive in Ketchum for roughly four weeks beginning on Monday, July 13. This closure was approved by the city of Sun Valley and will allow crews to rebuild the east half of the intersection of SH-75 and Elkhorn Road faster than would otherwise be possible.

Motorists can expect:

• Elkhorn Road will close at 6 a.m. on Monday, July 13.
• Traffic will use Sun Valley Road and Dollar Road to detour around the closure. View a detour map.
• The work zone will be noisy.
• A coordinator will be present on Elkhorn Road through the duration of the closure to allow anyone experiencing an emergency to get through the work zone quickly and safely.

Motorists are encouraged to leave early, follow signage and pay attention when traveling in the work zone.

When this project is complete, SH-75 will be widened between Elkhorn Road and River Street to accommodate growing traffic volumes in the region. The project also includes improving intersections and local roads. Construction is expected to be complete in 2027.
