Seattle police officers arrested a felony suspect after a standoff inside of Safeway this morning in West Seattle.
At 10:12 am, patrol officers responded to reports of a violent assault involving a female victim nearby.
Officers determined that the suspect pulled a knife on the victim and threatened her with violence. He acted under the influence of methamphetamine.
Police located the suspect inside the Safeway in the 9600 block of 28th Avenue Southwest and he refused to comply with officers. A negotiation was established.
The suspect was arrested after an hourslong standoff for felony Assault, Harassment, and Indecent Liberties. He was treated on scene by King County Firefighters and will be transported to Harborview Medical Center for evaluation.
The weapon was recovered by police. The suspect is expected to be booked into King County Jail.
