2026 Chancellor’s Faculty Award Nominations – August 10 through August 28

Nominees may demonstrate this commitment across a range of possibilities: student-centered or trainee-centered integration and socialization initiatives; efforts to support recruitment and retention of faculty, staff, trainees, and/or students; teaching, service/outreach, research, and/or service that expands and embraces our understanding of the Be One UT Values; programming or related initiatives; community outreach activities; or several other possibilities. UT Health Sciences community members, including students, trainees, staff, and faculty, are encouraged to nominate one or more candidates.

The award presentation will take place at the annual Impact Awards Ceremony and will include $1,500 and a recognition plaque.

Eligibility

  1. Candidates must be regular instructor or faculty members with a
  2. Candidates must serve a minimum of three (3) years of consecutive UT Health Sciences service.

Criteria

Criteria for selection may include a broad range of access and engagement-centered initiatives, efforts to support recruitment and retention of all faculty, staff, trainees, and/or students; teaching, mentoring, service/outreach, clinical practice, and/or research that expands and embraces our understanding of the Be One UT Values; community outreach activities; or several other possibilities that enhance the institutional culture. Nomination letters should focus on how the nominee's actions align with UT Health Sciences' cross-cutting strategic goals and with supplemental documentation addressing stated cross-cutting strategic goals of the nominee's respective college and department.

Nomination Process

A letter of nomination, paying particular attention to how the nominee's activities reflect the criteria noted above (Max 750 words).

2026 Nominations are open August 10 - August 28.

Selection Process

Candidates selected to move to the final selection stage will have to submit:

  1. A letter of support from the chair and dean of the nominee.
  2. At least two (and no more than five) letters of support from individuals who can provide testimony to the transformational impact and sustained effectiveness of the nominee's contributions; at least one letter should be from a member of the UT Health Sciences community.
  3. A CV demonstrating the track record of the nominee in the addressing the areas described above.

Any supporting documents as appropriate (e.g., media coverage, teaching evaluations).
