Chinese Ambassador to the Bahamas Yan Jiarong Attends Press Conference on Donation for Persons with Disabilities in The Bahamashe Bahamas

On 30 June 2025, Her Excellency Yan Jiarong, Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas attended a press conference on donation organized by the Bahamian National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, where the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas donated mobility aids for persons with disabilities. Also present were Mrs. Ann Marie Davis, wife of the Hon. Prime Minister Philip Davis, and the Hon. Myles Laroda, Minister of Social Services.

Ambassador Yan stated that the ceremony marks the fourth consecutive year the Chinese Embassy has supported persons with disabilities in The Bahamas, and that this is an important step in implementing the Beijing Declaration of the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum, which emphasizes the protection of the rights and interests of persons with disabilities as well as other vulnerable groups. She highlighted that China adheres to a people-centered development philosophy and human rights approach, and is willing to work hand in hand with its Global South partners, including The Bahamas, to build a community with a shared future for mankind-one that is more equal, inclusive where everyone leads a decent life.

The Bahamian side appreciated China's long-standing support for persons with disabilities in The Bahamas, echoing an international community with a shared future for mankind. They commended the outcomes of the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum, expressing readiness to strengthen exchanges and deepen cooperation with China.
