Appeal to locate teen missing from Surry Hills

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage boy missing from Surry Hills.

Mundara Brereton, aged 17, was last seen in Surry Hills, about 8pm yesterday (Wednesday 22 January 2025).

When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Kings Cross Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Mundara's welfare as his disappearance is reported to be out of character.

Mundara is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 175cm tall, of thin build, with black hair in a mullet style.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded jumper, black pants, a white hat and carrying a black suitcase.

Mundara is known to frequent the Surry Hills, Redfern and Waterloo areas.

Anyone with information on Mundara's whereabouts is asked to contact Kings Cross Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
