Governor Joe Lombardo Releases Statement on Nevada’s September Employment Numbers

CARSON CITY, Nev. - Today, Governor Joe Lombardo released the following statement on Nevada's September 2026 economic report from the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR):

"My administration is setting the standard for economic growth and opportunity, with more Nevadans working than ever before and unemployment continuing to fall," said Governor Lombardo. "In September, Nevada added 1,300 new jobs while unemployment dropped for the fifth consecutive month to 4.7% - the lowest level since before the pandemic. We will continue to build on our efforts to cut red tape, attract new investment, and strengthen the workforce to create more good-paying jobs for hardworking Nevadans."
