The Obstetrics & Gynecology team with Longstreet Clinic at Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is excited to announce the addition of Urania Davis, DO, and Heather Laflam, a certified nurse midwife, to care for women in Gainesville.

Dr. Davis is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with more than eight years of experience in comprehensive women's health including advanced gynecologic surgery (robotic, laparoscopic), prenatal care and interdisciplinary education.

Laflam has more than a decade of nursing experience, including four years working as a nurse practitioner in the metro Atlanta area.

"Dr. Davis and Heather are wonderful, experienced additions to our care team," said longtime Longstreet Clinic OB/GYN Brett Barger, MD.

Dr. Davis has built a wealth of experience in OB/GYN care during her career, working in a variety of settings in metro Atlanta and southern Florida. She is trained to use the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System for a variety of procedures.

"She is passionate about helping women through every stage of life, from wellness and pregnancy care to minimally invasive surgical procedures," Dr. Barger added.

Dr. Davis completed her OB/GYN residency at Community Health of South Florida, located in Miami, after receiving her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Ga. She earned her bachelor's degree in Biology at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn.

Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board, Laflam completed her nursing degree at the Medical College of Georgia and went on to earn a master's degree in Nursing from Georgia College and State University.

"From the beginning, certified nurse midwives and physicians at Longstreet Clinic have combined their skills to cover the entire spectrum of OB/GYN care," Dr. Barger said. "Our entire team is excited to have them here to help care for our growing community."

Dr. Davis and Laflam are welcoming new patients at their office in Gainesville, and they have medical staff privileges at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville.
