SC State Career Day Extravaganza to connect students with potential employers on Thursday

More than 60 organizations to offer employment, internship and graduate school opportunities

ORANGEBURG, S.C. - South Carolina State University students and recent graduates will have an opportunity to connect with more than 100 recruiters Thursday, Sept. 24, during the SC State Career Center's Career Day Extravaganza.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.

More than 100 recruiters representing 60 agencies, businesses, industries, school districts and graduate schools have registered to participate.

Banking, law enforcement, construction, automotive and aeronautical manufacturing, food service and tourism are among the career fields that will be represented.

The Career Day Extravaganza is designed to provide students and recent graduates with opportunities to explore:

• Internships.
• Cooperative education opportunities.
• Full- and part-time employment.
• Graduate school opportunities.

The dress code is business professional.

Career Week activities

The Career Day Extravaganza concludes the Career Center's Fall 2026 Career Week activities, which began Monday, Sept. 21.

As part of the week, the Career Center sponsored "Professor for a Day" training and development seminars featuring career professionals from various backgrounds. The sessions were designed to help students enhance their career development skills while exploring internships and other career pathways.

Career professionals visited classes Tuesday in targeted areas of the School of Business and Information Systems and the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Transportation.

Additional sessions were scheduled Wednesday in targeted areas of the College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Agriculture, Family and Consumer Sciences.
