MIDDLEBURG, Fla. -- The community is invited to a construction celebration for Fire Stations 1 and 22. The event will be on December 4 at 12:00 PM at the new Station 1 site off Brannan Mill Boulevard, north of Old Jennings Road.

County leaders and staff will join our community in a celebration event to commemorate the construction of these fire stations, which is underway. Station 1, which will be just north of St. Luke Catholic Church, is a new build to accommodate the growing area. Station 22, which is under construction on County Road 220 near Arena Road, is a relocation to provide even faster service from a centralized location. The station is moving from Pine Avenue on Fleming Island.

Parking will be off Brannan Mill Boulevard, north of Old Jennings Road.

Both fire stations will be state-of-the-art facilities designed to meet the needs of the growing community-with advanced safety features and increased space for more firefighters, equipment, and vehicles. Station 1 is the first new service location to be added to Clay County Fire Rescue in more than 25 years. Additionally, it will serve the central part of Clay County, a rapidly urbanizing area along the State Road 23 and Blanding Boulevard corridors.

In 2024, the Board of County Commissioners approved a $65M bond to build new fire stations and improve a public safety radio tower, which will help expand emergency services to Clay County residents. These two stations are part of that plan to improve and expand public safety in Clay County. Station 20 in Green Cove Springs, which opened in August 2025, is the first of these new stations. The County also purchased property for future builds.
