Tennessee Titans Recognize Ascension Saint Thomas Breast Cancer Survivors at 2024 Crucial Catch Game

NASHVILLE, Tenn., (Oct. 15, 2024) - The Tennessee Titans and Ascension Saint Thomas honored breast cancer survivors during the National Football League's Crucial Catch game on Sunday, Oct. 13 at Nissan Stadium.

This is the 15th year the Tennessee Titans and Ascension Saint Thomas have worked together to support the fight against cancer. The breast cancer patients, Moira Gray, Dana Bonaminio, Bailey Veach, Stephanie Jenkins, Daphney Shatteen Jones, and Maron Summar were celebrated on the field this past Sunday while wearing pink jerseys, to bring attention to October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These survivors come from different backgrounds and experiences but all share a unique bond through their diagnosis.

This Crucial Catch game is a special day for each survivor and their physicians from Ascension Saint Thomas and Tennessee Oncology to be honored. This initiative has also expanded to raise awareness and encourage early detection and risk reduction.

"We are honored to partner with the Tennessee Titans and support the NFL's Crucial Catch initiative in the fight against cancer," said Fahad Tahir, president and CEO of Ascension Saint Thomas. "This past weekend, we celebrated the incredible strength and resilience of these inspiring survivors and their passionate physicians and care teams - reminding us all that through unity and compassionate care, no challenge is insurmountable. Together, we stand united in our mission to lessen the impact of cancer in our communities and celebrate the courage of those who fight it."

"The Titans are proud to work with our longstanding partners and friends at Ascension Saint Thomas as we continue to promote screening and early detection for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Crucial Catch is one of our most valued NFL initiatives, and we look forward to it each season," said Adam Nuse, Titans Senior Vice President. "The women honored at our Crucial Catch game this weekend are shining examples of strength and great resolve as they battle breast cancer with such bravery. They are an inspiration to our entire community and organization."

"Caring for cancer patients is a privilege," Dr. Natalie Dickson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tennessee Oncology shared on behalf of their physicians and care teams. "We appreciate joining the Tennessee Titans and Ascension Saint Thomas in recognizing the courage of breast cancer survivors and caregivers, and expanding awareness for preventative care in the community."
