Call for Applications: The 6th MOFA Next Generation Korea Experts Workshop

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) operates a program aimed at deepening the understanding of Korea among international graduate students (Master's and Ph.D. level) currently enrolled at universities in Korea. Through lectures, discussions, and field trips, the program seeks to nurture the next generation of Korea experts.

We are pleased to announce the call for applications for the 6th Next Generation Korea Experts Workshop, as detailed below, and warmly encourage interested students to apply.

▶ Eligibility:

Applicants must

- Be a foreign national(hold a citizenship other than that of the Republic of Korea) AND is currently enrolled in a master's or doctoral program at a graduate school program officially registered in Korea.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to:

- Have sufficient proficiency in Korean to comprehend university-level lecture (All programs will be conducted in Korean;

- English interpretation will be available for some lectures only)

- Demonstrate a genuine interest in Korea's politics, economy, society, and culture

- Be enthusiastic about building academic networks with international peers from diverse backgrounds, as well as leading experts from various fields in Korea

▶ Program Period: August 4 - August 14 (excluding weekends)

▶ Location:

Yonsei Institute for North Korean Studies and various sites in Seoul and the metropolitan area

▶ Application Deadline:

Thursday, July 24, 2025

▶ Notification of Admission:

Selected applicants will be notified in late July

▶ Orientation:

Tuesday, July 29
