Cleco restores power to 97 percent of customers following Winter Storm Fern and expects full restoration tomorrow

Cleco has restored power to 97 percent of the customers who lost power following Winter Storm Fern. While crews will continue to work into the night, the company expects some customers could be without power overnight.

"Our crews are working quickly and safely to restore power to the remaining 500 customers who are still without power," said Clint Robichaux, director of distribution operations and reliability. "This storm presented some unique challenges, including two days of below freezing temperatures and multiple road closures in the hardest hit areas of DeSoto and Sabine Parishes."

The following customers are expected to be without power overnight.

  • Mansfield area
    • Customers west of Mansfield on Hwy 84 near the Stanley area
    • Customers south of the Stanley area near Toledo Bend
    • Customers on Robinson Road
    • Customers on Gilliam Road
    • Customers on Brown Road
  • Keatchie area
    • Customers southeast of Keatchie near Vance Road and Phillips Lane
  • Grand Cane area
    • Customers west of Grand Cane on Hwy 3015
    • Customers northwest of Grand Cane on Screamville Road

"Unfortunately, some of our customers will be without power overnight," said Robichaux. "But we do expect all customers who can take power to have power tomorrow."

Additionally, the company states that the Mansfield Customer Service Office will reopen tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 29.
