Dignity Health Woodland Memorial Hospital Giving Tree Delivers More Than 350 Gifts to Yolo County Families

WOODLAND, CA, December 22, 2025 - Dignity Health Woodland Memorial Hospital provided more than 350 holiday gifts to 42 local families this season through its annual Giving Tree program, in partnership with the Yolo County Children's Alliance.

The Giving Tree program, now a holiday tradition at Woodland Memorial Hospital, supports children, single parents, caregivers and teens from families living well below the poverty level throughout Yolo County. Giving Tree tags displayed holiday wishes from families served by the Alliance, helping connect hospital staff directly with community needs.

Hundreds of hospital employees and medical providers participated, donating gifts that brought holiday cheer and essential support to families facing financial hardship.

"The Giving Tree program reflects our commitment to caring for the whole person and supporting families beyond the walls of the hospital," said Dr. Ashley Sens, chief medical officer at Woodland Memorial Hospital and a board member of the Yolo County Children's Alliance. "By working together, we can help strengthen families and support the well-being of children across our community."

"Support from community partners like Woodland Memorial Hospital makes a meaningful difference for families across Yolo County," said Jeneba Lahai, Executive Director of the Yolo County Children's Alliance. "These gifts help ensure children and caregivers feel supported during the holidays and reinforce that they are not alone."

The initiative aligns with the missions of both organizations. Woodland Memorial Hospital, part of CommonSpirit Health, is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care while addressing social factors that impact health. The Yolo County Children's Alliance works to advocate for children and families, provide access to critical resources and promote long-term stability for those most in need.
