H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), presided over the launch of Bakong Tourists App with the international payment card scheme Visa on January 22, 2025 at the National Bank of Cambodia, with approximately 300 participants from government ministries-institutions, international payment card firms and other private companies.

Upon the launch, international tourists can seamlessly transact digital payment during their stays in Cambodia, just downloading Bakong Tourists App in their mobile phones to register and connect it to Visa cards issued in their home countries. After that, users can make transfers to their individual Bakong accounts and transact payments via KHQR code with about 4.5 million merchants in Cambodia.
