MLK Week of Service Volunteer Opportunities
Rockville Weed Warrior Workdays
Weed Warrior volunteers help the city by removing invasive species from park land, wooded and open space areas that can take over native plants and trees. Registration is required.
Trail Clean Up
In memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., participate in the National Day of Service and help to improve your community and the environment.
No-Sew Blankets (Benefiting Project Linus)
Create a no-sew blanket for a child in need. All kits will be pre-cut and come with instructions for assembly. This project benefits Project Linus, which provides handmade blankets to children 0-18 who are seriously ill, or otherwise in need. This no-sew project is a great opportunity for families. This service opportunity has filled.
Cups of Cheer (Benefiting Small Things Matter)
Volunteer to assemble 300 "Cups of Cheer" along with a heartfelt note for seniors in our community. Small Things Matter is a 501(3)c nonprofit founded on the idea that small acts of kindness can make a big impact on someone's life. The service opportunity is closed.
Winter Care Kits for Those in Need (Benefiting Community Reach of Montgomery County)
Volunteer to assemble 300 winter care kits for those in need in our community. Community Reach of Montgomery County helps to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable in Montgomery County, MD. This service opportunity has filled.
House Kits (Benefiting Interfaith Works)
Volunteer to assemble home kits with essential items for those in housing transition. Interfaith Works believes in the power of everyone's unique journey, and for over 50 years, they have helped open doors for those on the pathway to stability. The service opportunity is closed.
