Association Urges HRSA to Extend Rebate Model RFI Comment Period

In a Feb. 19 letter to Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Administrator Engels, America's Essential Hospitals requested an extension of the comment period for the agency's request for information (RFI) on a 340B Drug Pricing Program rebate model.

The letter notes that a rebate model would upend more than 30 years of established 340B policy and that HRSA is asking stakeholders to gather "facts, research, and evidence" on specific aspects of a hypothetical model. The association asked HRSA to extend the comment deadline to April 20; the RFI currently is scheduled to close on March 19.

The letter also was signed by the American Hospital Association, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Catholic Health Association of the United States, the Children's Hospital Association, and 340B Health.
