The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Service Route 680 (Fox Tower Drive) in Ledyard and North Stonington. This project is scheduled to occur on Thursday, August 6 and be completed on Friday, October 16, 2026. Project No. DOT01720558CN "FF" consists of milling and resurfacing a 2.50-mile segment of Service Route 680 (Fox Tower Drive) in Ledyard to Wintechog Hill Road in North Stonington. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Rafferty Fine Grading Inc. on Thursday, August 6 to Thursday, September 3, 2026. The resurfacing segment of this project by Tilcon CT Inc. is anticipated to begin on Wednesday, September 9 to Friday, October 16, 2026. Work will end at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, October 8 and will resume at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, October 14, 2026, due to the Columbus Day holiday.
This project is included in CTDOT's 2026 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Service Route 680 (Fox Tower Drive) in Ledyard to Wintechog Hill Road in North Stonington. Traffic control personnel, crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
