On November 6, 2024, in Seoul, within the framework of working visit, a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sodiq Imomi and the President of the Assembly and Chair of the Council of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) Ban Ki-moon.
During the meeting, S.Imomi handed over to Ban Ki-moon the original Instrument of accession of Tajikistan to the Agreement on the establishment of the Global Green Growth Institute, and the parties noted the importance of joining of the Republic of Tajikistan to the GGGI to further expand cooperation in the field of environmental protection and climate change.
During the meeting two sides discussed issues of expanding cooperation between Tajikistan and the GGGI in the context of renewable energy and sustainable development.
The GGGI leadership was also invited to participate in the High-Level International Conference on Glacier's Preservation, which, according to the UN General Assembly resolution, is scheduled for May 2025 in Dushanbe.
Ban Ki-moon recalled his long-standing friendly relations with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Emomali Rahmon and conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the Нead of the Tajik state.
