Improve your restaurant's efficiency and help Menlo Park climate goals

Published on April 07, 2025

The City of Menlo Park is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 through goals outlined in our Climate Action Plan. These goals include expanding building electrification, implementing energy efficiency improvements and reducing natural gas usage. Local restaurants now have an opportunity to support our goals while saving money and improving kitchen performance.

The San Mateo County Sustainability Department, in collaboration with San Mateo County Energy Watch and Frontier Energy, is offering a free energy assessment for restaurants. This initiative helps commercial kitchen operators lower energy bills and boost productivity while transitioning toward cleaner, more sustainable operations.

By taking a short ten-minute survey, you can participate in a program designed to provide:

  • A comprehensive energy assessment of your cooking, space conditioning and water heating equipment to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Expert advice and insights into the most cost-effective ways to reduce your electric and natural gas utility bills through equipment upgrades and energy-saving strategies
  • A detailed carbon footprint analysis and electrical service assessment of your equipment that will determine the panel upgrades required to convert to all electric equipment

This initiative directly supports Menlo Park's electrification priorities and provides a practical, no-cost way to contribute to a greener future.

Don't wait! Complete the survey by April 10 for a chance to participate and shape the future of energy-efficient commercial kitchens in our community.
