Symphony Orchestra to Present Concert October 7

Lee University Symphony Orchestra performs Spring 2024

The Lee University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Régulo Stabilito, will present its fall concert on Monday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in Pangle Hall.

"The opening concert for this year's season is really special," said Stabilito. "We are preparing a repertoire with a variety of emotions, composition styles, and symphonic colors."

The performance will include pieces such as Bruckner's "Overture in G Minor" and Barber's "First Essay Op. 12." The orchestra will also present Borodin's "Symphony No. 2," which will be divided into four movements, each one highlighting a different aspect of the orchestra.

Lee's Symphony Orchestra is an ensemble of select instrumentalists who perform operatic, choral, and other major symphonic works.

Stabilito, an artist in residence at Lee and music director and conductor of Oak Ridge Symphony in Tennessee, has accompanied renowned international soloists and made frequent appearances as a conductor for opera, orchestral, and ballet productions. He is also a permanent guest conductor in the Festival Latinoamericano de Música (Latin American Music Festival) in Caracas. He and his wife founded the Latin-American Music Initiative (LAMI), an organization that seeks to promote Latin American composers and their works.

This event is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public. Livestream viewing will also be available at https://leeu.live/.
