NEXT WEEK: Senate HELP Committee to Vote on Bills to Combat Antisemitism on College Campuses

WASHINGTON - On Wednesday, April 30, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee will vote on bipartisan legislation to address the continued antisemitic attacks and harassment against Jewish students on college campuses. Specifically, the HELP Committee will consider the Protecting Students on Campus Act and the Antisemitism Awareness Act. Recently, the HELP Committee held a hearing to examine antisemitism on college campuses.

According to the Anti-Defamation League, antisemitic incidents on college campuses were up almost 500 percent between 2023 and 2024, totaling 1,200 reports. Since the October 7 terror attacks, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), chair of the HELP Committee, has led Senate Republicans in combating antisemitism on college campuses.
