SACRAMENTO, CA - Assemblymember Michelle Rodriguez (D-Ontario) has named Pomona Police Department Captain Alyssa Bostrom as Assembly District 53's 2026 Woman of the Year. A dedicated public safety leader and champion for victims, Captain Bostrom was honored as part of the Women's History Month celebration hosted by the Legislative Women's Caucus.
"I am proud to recognize Captain Alyssa Bostrom as Assembly District 53's Woman of the Year," Assemblymember Rodriguez said. "Her leadership, dedication to public safety, and commitment to protecting victims make her truly deserving of this recognition."
With more than two decades of service at the Pomona Police Department, Bostrom has held a wide range of assignments including patrol, gangs, crisis negotiation, and command roles. Now leading the department's Investigative Services Bureau, she has modernized operations through the department's Real-Time Information Center, helped achieve 100% homicide solvability in 2025, and restructured trafficking enforcement efforts that have rescued 24 victims, including 20 juveniles. Her work continues to strengthen investigative outcomes and build trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
