July 24, 2026 - Beginning Tuesday, July 28, 2026, work begins outside the Bettendorf Public Library (2950 Learning Campus Drive) as crews remove and replace the sidewalks and ADA curb ramps that surround the building.
This is Phase 1 of the Learning Campus Sidewalk Replacement Project, which is being completed in two stages - the first stage (in red on the map below) includes the sidewalk on the west side of the library, and the second stage includes the sidewalks on the south and east sides of the library.
During the first stage, the main entrance of the library will be closed, and visitors will need to access the building by using the door on the west side of the building through the library's teen space, called The Quad (in green on the map below). In addition, patrons will not be able to return library materials after hours, because the drive-thru to the automatic return and the outdoor book drops will be in the construction zone. Eligible library materials can be automatically renewed or returned to any other RiverShare Library.
The first stage of this project is expected to be completed in two weeks, weather permitting, and then crews will move onto the second stage. During the second stage, the main entrance, the drive-thru to the automatic return, and the outdoor book drops will be reopened. The second stage of this project is expected to be completed in two weeks, weather permitting.
Phase 2 of this project is scheduled to be completed in 2027. It includes the removal and replacement of the sidewalks and ADA curb ramps around the Family Museum.
