Acton Institute Appoints Scot Landry as Executive Director of Istituto Acton (Rome, Italy)

Grand Rapids, MI / Rome, Italy - [12 September 2025] - The Acton Institute is pleased to announce that Scot Landry has been appointed Executive Director of Istituto Acton.

Istituto Acton, Acton's Rome-based office, stands in the epicenter of ecclesiastical engagement and is well-positioned to engage international religious leaders, scholars, entrepreneurs, and business executives in its mission of advancing a free and virtuous society.

Landry presents an outstanding leadership record, orchestrating exceptional results in both highlyleveraged enterprises and highlyimpactful Catholic institutions. Central to all this is his unwavering commitment as a Catholic Christian, which not only underscores but also fundamentally shapes his professional achievements.

Landry has held senior roles including Chief Operating Officer at Polyphonic Capital, Eze Castle Software, and Eze Castle Integration, as well as serving as a strategy consultant at The Parthenon Group and in brand management at Procter & Gamble and James River.

Landry served as a Cabinet member in the Archdiocese of Boston, where he led the Advancement and Catholic Media teams. He has also contributed his expertise as an executive or consultant to leading Catholic organizations, including Our Sunday Visitor, Dynamic Catholic, CatholicVote, Catholic Voices USA, The Station of the Cross Radio Network, and The Pontifical Mission Societies.

A published author and gifted communicator, Landry wrote Transforming Parish Communications: Growing the Church through New Media (Our Sunday Visitor, 2014) and hosted The Good Catholic Life daily radio program for three years. His work has earned national recognition, including the Catholic Press Association's Clarion Award and Legatus' "Ambassador of the Year" Award.

Landry graduated from Harvard College with a degree in Government and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. He and his wife Ximena are the proud parents of three grown children.

"Scot's proven ability to bridge the worlds of faith, business, and media make him uniquely suited to lead Istituto Acton at this pivotal moment," said Kris Alan Mauren, President of the Acton Institute. "His leadership will strengthen our efforts to equip global leaders with the moral and economic insight needed to advance human dignity, liberty, and virtue."

"It is a true joy to join the Acton Institute at this pivotal moment," stated Landry. "As Pope Leo XIV has indicated, there are many shifts happening in technology and the world of work that present both great promise and also danger. Consequently, core principles such as the priority of human dignity need to apply in both fresh and longstanding ways. Acton Institute exists to do this. It's an honor to lead the expansion of our efforts in Rome, where so many of these discussions will be taking place."
