Today, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) voted in favor of the Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2027, which moves the process forward for Congressional Republicans' third reconciliation bill, the SAVE and Protect America Act.
"Today, House Republicans took the first step in the budget reconciliation process to address urgent national priorities that the American people have been asking for," said Rep. Walberg. "The SAVE and Protect America Act will help restore American greatness by protecting and strengthening our homeland and bolstering our election integrity. I urge the Senate to quickly pass the budget resolution so we can begin the process of securing our elections, supporting our troops, and providing certainty for our food supply."
Background
Despite finding noncitizens and similarly ineligible restraints on voter rolls and over 83% of Americans supporting requiring government-issued photo ID, fourteen states still refuse to require photo ID for voting. The budget resolution would provide instructions to implement commonsense election integrity measures along with providing our troops with the resources they need and securing our nation's food supply.
