January's random splash of sunshine and 50-degree Fahrenheit weather was another one of Michigan's strange anomalies. Winter is not always filled with surprising explosions of heat and melting snow. It's winter, after all --- and that means chilly winds, frosty windows and slippery terrains of ice and snow. This leaves us with one question (well, actually a couple, but there's only one that matters for this blog): What can we do for fun if going outside isn't a good option?
Fortunately, you won't need to lookup 'Stuff to do indoors near me' on Google and endure countless pages of search options to find the answer. Make Macomb Your Home has got you covered!
When it comes to things to do inside, Macomb County has no shortage of activities: libraries, indoor play areas, theaters, roller rinks and more. Below are a few examples:
Macomb County is home to about 14 or so bowling alleys. You can find them in any of our 27 municipalities, their locations ranging from all the way in Shelby Township to down in Roseville. Bowling leagues continue to be a huge part in keeping the suburban bowling culture alive. But if you're looking to simply rent a lane for friends, it's important to check the bowling alley's website or call beforehand.
'Amusement centers' is a broad term for a broad category of establishments. Think Dave and Busters, laser tag or even a pinball arcade. There are many of these centers sprinkled across Macomb County.
Many of our communities have their own nature centers, but Macomb County is also home to the Reptarium and LegaSea Aquarium. These establishments offer customers a close look at some of their wildlife friends, including sea and freshwater creatures and even a sloth of all things. The Reptarium and LegaSea Aquarium are a popular local attraction and it's best to knab your tickets a head of time.
In a similar academic vein, another great way to spend time indoors is to get lost in the rows of books at your local library. Macomb County's communities all have a library (or multiple) that their residents are able to benefit from. To find yours, check out our local libraries pageand start your literature journey!
