Cumberland County Honors First Responders at Annual EMS Awards Dinner

Cumberland County Commissioner Deputy Director Art Marchand, along with Commissioners Jim Sauro, Robert Austino, John Capizola Jr., and Yolanda Garcia Balicki, were proud to attend the Cumberland County EMS Annual Awards Dinner to honor the extraordinary first responders who serve and protect our community.

A highlight of the evening was the recognition of the dedicated team from Downe Township Fire & Rescue for their heroic rescue of two individuals from a sunken boat. Working seamlessly with Cumberland County 911 Dispatch, their swift action, coordination, and professionalism helped save lives and showcased the strength of our county's emergency response system.

The Commissioners were also joined by Sheriff Michael Donato, Senator Michael Testa, and Congressman Jeff Van Drew in showing support for the men and women who work tirelessly to protect Cumberland County residents.

We also proudly recognize five Cumberland County 911 dispatchers who were honored for their role in an October 2025 rescue. Congratulations to all involved:

  • Supervisor PST Sherri Coombs Supervisor
  • PST Bryan Moreno
  • PST Stephanie Raively
  • PST Gary Hollinger
  • PST Kevin Hall
To all of the award recipients-thank you for your courage, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to public safety. Cumberland County is safer because of you.
