Bassett Healthcare Network Completes Phase One of Cancer Institute Expansion at FoxCare Center in Oneonta

Second and Final Phase of Renovations Now Underway

Phase one of a planned multi-million-dollar renovation of the Bassett Cancer Institute at FoxCare Center is now complete. The second and final phase of construction is now underway and is expected to be complete in 2027.

The Oncology Unit at FoxCare Center in Oneonta is one of Bassett Healthcare Network's most utilized locations by patients with cancer and, once complete, renovations are expected to increase access to care and provide a more comfortable environment for patients.

Phase one of construction took place in an area of FoxCare Center that was previously unutilized. The space now includes a waiting area, reception desk, clinic exam rooms, and infusion treatment bays. Now that this area is complete, patients with Cancer Care appointments at FoxCare Center are all temporarily being seen there while renovations continue.

Phase two construction is underway in the main Bassett Cancer Institute space inside FoxCare Center. Once renovations are complete, the expanded Bassett Cancer Institute will encompass both spaces, allowing for a more soothing, spacious environment for patients receiving care and the caregivers providing it. When the project is complete, the expanded cancer center will include additional infusion bays, nurses stations and physician offices, and a modernized cancer pharmacy.

The total cost of construction, renovations, and equipment is expected to total an estimated $7 million. Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network, the non-profit organization that provides philanthropic support to Bassett, has organized multiple fundraising initiatives to support this expansion and has, at this point, raised $1.57 million.
