Friday Night Lane Closures on I-85 in Clayton, Fulton for Concrete Rehab Project
Expect Heavy Traffic Delays
ATLANTA, GA - The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors install lane closures on Interstate 85 (I-85) this weekend to begin a concrete slab rehabilitation project on five miles between State Route 139/Riverdale Road (SR 139) and State Route 3/Metropolitan Parkway (SR 3) in Clayton and Fulton Counties. These activities help repair and extend the life of the concrete materials on the roadway.

Weather and on-site conditions permitting, the shoulder lanes will be closed on I-85 throughout the project area beginning 9 p.m. on Friday, June 13 until 7 a.m. Saturday.
This $7.1 M project is scheduled for completion in early 2026.

Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through the work zone during the project work hours. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
