BATON ROUGE, LA - Following last week's severe winter storm, Governor Landry announced that state and federal efforts are underway to support Louisiana families and small businesses affected by the disaster. Watch video message HERE.
"Louisiana families and small businesses were hit hard during this winter weather. We have been working side by side with President Trump, Secretary Rollins, Administrator Loeffler, SBA Regional Administrator Justin Crossie, and our Louisiana delegation to ensure help gets to the people who need it most here in Louisiana," said Gov. Landry.
Small Business Support Through SBA Disaster Loans
Small businesses can now apply for SBA disaster loans to aid in recovery. Applications are available at lending.sba.gov, with the deadline for submission set for November 2. The disaster declaration affects 19 parishes in northeast Louisiana, spanning from West Carroll Parish south to Concordia Parish, and west to the Bossier & Caddo parishes.
SNAP Assistance for Affected Parishes
SNAP recipients in Caldwell, DeSoto, East Carroll, Jackson, Ouachita, Red River, Richland, and West Carroll Parishes will automatically receive an additional 20 percent of their January benefits. This support covers approximately 51,500 people, and the additional benefits will be added directly to recipients' EBT cards by February 11.
