GDOT Quick Response teams will be begin a New Roundabout Project on State Route 42 and Montpielier beginning January 5, 2026


MONROE COUNTY - Georgia Department of Transportation rapid response crews will start on January 5, 2026, on a new roundabout project in Monroe County.

Traffic interruptions will be expected. Drivers should be aware of the new traffic pattern when entering the work zone and proceed with caution. The project is scheduled to be completed in the Spring of 2026.


Advisory: Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
