In Celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month City of West Hollywood Presents Zetz Klezmer Ensemble Concert and Art Workshops from the Skirball Cultural Center

The City of West Hollywood will present a special presentation for Jewish American Heritage Month featuring the Zetz Klezmer Ensemble live in concert along with Art Making workshops from the Skirball Cultural Center on Sunday, May 31, 2026. The event will be held at Plummer Park's Great Hall Courtyard, located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard. Doors will open at 3 p.m. for workshops, followed by the performance at 5 p.m. The event is free, but RSVP is required via Eventbrite.

Zetz, which means to jab or poke in Yiddish, is an energetic, entertaining ensemble that charms audiences across all age groups. Their music is firmly based in klezmer traditions of Eastern European Jews, but also draws inspiration from across the world. These creative musicians weave the intimacy of European chamber music together with the infectious fun and entertainment of a dance band.

The event will also feature two workshops presented by the Skirball Cultural Center that will ignite imagination and creativity! Join the in celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month and learn about the Jewish practice of doing a mitzvah, or a good deed. In this project, adapted from the Skirball's Family Art Studio, participants will create a decorated Mitzvah Wheel to help decide what good deed to do each day.

There will also be a music making workshop led by The Zetz Klezmer Ensemble. Participants will learn concepts of Jewish culture and history through music and gain an appreciation for the cultural context of the music. The instrumentalists will learn to play klezmer songs that will be performed at the concert with Zetz Klezmer Ensemble. This multigenerational workshop will be open to all. Bring your instruments!
