UC Vice President Featured in International Art Project

CHARLESTON, WV, October 14, 2025 - Dr. Beth Wolfe, Executive Vice President of Enrollment Management at the University of Charleston, has been selected as one of 1,388 artists participating in TELEPHONE, a groundbreaking international collaborative art project that launched its third rendition in October.

The ambitious project, nearly two years in development, features original works from artists in more than 900 cities across 65 countries. Wolfe contributed a poem titled "Not to Be Taken" in response to a photograph submitted by another participant, demonstrating the project's innovative chain-like creative process, where each artist responds to the previous work.

"I was first interested in participating in the TELEPHONE project due to the intriguing idea of creating a chain of art in response to another person's creative work," Dr. Wolfe explained. "But to see the entire web of interconnected beauty from artists all over the world gives me renewed hope that we can learn from and appreciate one another, across time, geography, culture, and any other barrier we imagine to be in the way."

The TELEPHONE project represents a unique intersection of art, collaboration, and global connectivity, bringing together diverse creative voices from around the world in a single unified artistic expression.
