The New York Legal Assistance Group congratulates Faiza Ali on her appointment as Commissioner for the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs.
Lisa Rivera, CEO and president of the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) released the following statement:
"Faiza Ali is an excellent and well-qualified choice as the new Commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs. Her work at the City Council demonstrated her ability to organize with and advocate for communities from Bay Ridge to Mott Haven to Flushing. Her appointment speaks to Mayor Mamdani's vision to create a government that reflects the diversity of immigrant communities across the five boroughs and his commitment to protecting our neighbors in the face of increased federal enforcement. NYLAG looks forward to collaborating with and working alongside Commissioner Ali and the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs."
