On September 16, the Commission met in executive session.
The Commission voted to cancel the open meeting scheduled for September 18.
Litigation
McDonald v. FEC (Case No. 25-10830) On September 15, Appellant McDonald filed a Brief in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Outreach
On September 17, the Commission hosted a Seminar for Separate Segregated Funds at its headquarters in Washington, DC.
On September 19, Chair Shana M. Broussard discussed campaign finance disclosure rules and the role of the Commission with students from India's International Movement to the United Nations (IIMUN).
On September 19, Acting General Counsel Lisa Stevenson participated in a panel discussion at the annual conference of the Practising Law Institute in Washington, D.C.
Website Maintenance
On September 23 and 24, 2025, the FEC will perform maintenance on FEC.gov that may affect access to legal search systems. Access to campaign finance data will not be affected. On September 23, scheduled maintenance may cause searches for closed enforcement case data to become unavailable or incomplete between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. EDT. On September 24, scheduled maintenance may cause legal search systems to become intermittently unavailable between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. EDT.
Electronic Filing
Version 8.5 of the FEC's electronic filing specifications was released on September 2, 2025. Committees are required to update FECFile or their third-party electronic filing software prior to filing any reports after this date.

Contribution Limits: In addition to the current limits, the Commission has posted an archive of contribution limits that were in effect going back to the 1975-1976 election cycles.
Federal election results are available. The data was compiled from the official vote totals published by state election offices.

This publication identifies the federal and state agencies responsible for the disclosure of campaign finances, lobbying, personal finances, public financing, candidates on the ballot, election results, spending on state initiatives, and other financial filings.
The Presidential Election Campaign Fund Tax Checkoff Chart provides information on balance of the Fund, monthly deposits into the Fund reported by the Department of the Treasury, payments from the Fund as certified by the FEC, and participation rates of taxpayers as reported by the Internal Revenue Service.
