On 22 August 2026, Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys delivered opening remarks at the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Association of Thai Teachers in Sweden (Föreningen för Thailändska Lärare i Sverige), held online with approximately 38 Thai teachers from municipalities across Sweden. The meeting provided a platform for participants to exchange knowledge, experiences and approaches to teaching. On this occasion, the Association introduced its new Executive Committee for 2026 and presented a report on its recent activities.

Ambassador Arunrung commended the role of Thai teachers, which extends beyond language instruction to passing on Thai culture, values and a sense of pride in Thai identity to children and young people growing up in Sweden, while also supporting their integration and active participation in Swedish society.

Highlights include cooperation between the Royal Thai Embassy and the Association, including the 2026 "My Dream Songkran" drawing competition, which received 164 entries from 17 municipalities across Sweden. The Ambasador reaffirmed the Embassy's readiness to continue supporting efforts to strengthen networks among Thai teachers and the Thai community in Sweden.
